Privacy Policy - Training 

Data Controller – Somerset County Council (SCC) are the administering body for provision of training and certification relating to safeguarding children on behalf of the SSCP.  SCC will manage and maintain the personal information within the database PHEW. 

Data Protection Officer contact – 

Information we collect – Contact details to allow you to participate in your chosen training course including where applicable accessibility information to ensure that the course is accessible to you. 

If you choose to use the certification feature; information about you, the courses you have undertaken and the certification achieved. 

Where a course charges a fee we will collect payment information using our secure Adalante service. 

Purpose for processing – For the provision of training courses, and a portal to enable you to undertake training and keep a record of your certificates.  

Legal basis for processing – Contract 

For accessibility information, this will be done under Explicit Consent, and will only be used for the purposes of providing accessible courses to you. 

Data Sharing – the personal data provided will be shared with the relevant training provider in order to facilitate the course. Where a venue is being used minimal information will be shared with the venue provider in order to meet Health and Safety and venue security requirements. 

Your data may be shared with your employer if a request to verify training has taken place is received. 

Transfers abroad – this data will not be transferred abroad. The Phew database is held within the EU. 

Data Retention – your information will be retained for a period of 4 years following the date the account was last accessed. 

Your Rights – You have the right to ask SSCP via Somerset County Council for a copy of your data, the right to rectify or erase your personal data, and the right to object to processing.  

However these rights are only applicable if the Council has no other legal obligation concerning that data. You also have the right to complain to the regulator, 

If you do not provide the information required under Contract we will not be able to provide Training courses to you
