This 2-hour workshop is for any practitioner in Somerset who works with separated parents struggling with ongoing coparenting conflict.

This training is delivered by Ruth James, Reducing Parental Conflict Coordinator, who will share her learning and top tips on reducing coparenting conflict from her work with separated parents delivering Parenting Cafes and the Parenting When Separated course over the last 10 months.

Everyone who comes along to this training will be invited to a monthly “Learning Set” where Ruth will share new ideas/tools and you will get support in your ongoing work with separated parents.

Objectives

By the end of the workshop you will:

  • Have a better understanding of the causes of conflict.
  • Be familiar with a range of practical tools to help separated parents reduce conflict.
  • Be aware of a range of tools for supporting children through separation/divorce to share with separated parents.
  • Be familiar with ways of reducing conflict when separated families move on and create new, blended families.
  • Understand where to signpost separated parents to for support.
  • Be able to use these tools in one-to-one work with parents as well as in a Parenting Cafe for Separated Parents.
